Art in Good Company is a new program for community members 60+ at the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art. Come and join us every other Thursday afternoon for art making activities based on the current exhibition!
Thursday May 7th, 2026 | 2:30pm – 4:00pm
We will be looking at the work of Alex Gibson, 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦, which they made in response to Jack Shadbolt’s 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 (1973-1983/89), drawing on the garden as a transitional space between interior and exterior, private and public. Gardens are also a place of rest, a sanctuary, where things are nourished and protected.
On this Thursday’s Art in Good Company, we will be using paper collage and strips of mylar to make a garden sanctuary and thoughts on what is protected and private, and what is shown.
Art In Good Company is FREE – No registration required. Donations are welcome.
