To round out the month of May, we celebrate Asian Heritage Month at the Smith!  Join Yvette Salazar, Program Manager at the Gordon Smith Gallery and Art Educator for the Vancouver Art Gallery, as she takes you through the beauty of banig – a Filipino tradition that normally uses long Pandan leaves to create beautiful designs for many household objects, most notably the sleeping mats.  We will be using a simplified banig weaving technique, using recycled materials to create your own small woven project to take home!

Explore + Create Saturday is a family drop-in art making program for adults and children ages 5-12 years old. Admission is free and donations are welcomed.
